Hire a bike and explore the National Trust estate

Hop on a bike and explore the 1,800-acre National Trust estate that surrounds our stately manor. Exploring the Estate via bike is a great way to see more of the beautiful parkland. As a guest at the lckworth Hotel, we have some extra options available to you.

Cycle Hub open 2026 from 5th March to 2nd November 2026 (10am – 4pm, last hire 2pm) –  Pre-booking is available Monday to Wednesday only during this time. Thursday to Sunday pre-booking not available; service operates on a first-come, first-served basis at Cycle Hub.

School Holidays* Monday – Sunday, 10am – 4pm  – Cycle Hire Hub open daily. Pre-booking is not available during the school holidays; service operates on a first-come, first-served basis at Cycle Hub.

Winter hiring – Between 2nd November 2026 to 5th March 2027; hotel guests can pre-book for Monday through Friday exclusively, and only outside of school holiday* periods.

To pre-book a bike, please send an email with 48 hours notice to ickworthcycle@nationaltrust.org.uk

They will need to know;
• Adult – height ideally
• Children – age and height ideally
• quantity of bikes
• quantity of trailers (minimum ago for trailer 12 months and maximum height 105cm)
• duration of hire
• time and date for hire

*14th – 22nd February, 28th March – 12st April, 4th May, 23rd – 31st May, 18th July – 1st September, 24th October – 1st November, 18th December – 3rd January.
