27April2024 - 27April2024

Moonfleet Manor

Join in the fun at the Nothe and meet the fantastic flying team of specialist educators Raphael Historic Falconry.

Discover why in history hawking was once a daily activity and a pursuit encouraged among the military, learn who practiced the art of falconry in Victorian England and why. Watch the traditional skills of hunting with hawk, falcon, and hound recreated in simulated chases, and listen to period tales about scientific discoveries, avian folklore, and royal influence. The Victorian falconers will take you on a fascinating tour through time in a series of live demonstrations – plus in between you can visit the Hawk Mews and see the birds at roost.
