There is something wonderfully simple about a summer stay with an outdoor pool. Children can spend the afternoon swimming, splashing and making friends, while parents settle into the slower pace that holidays are made for.
At Luxury Family Hotels, three of our hotels have outdoor pools for the summer months: Fowey Hall in Cornwall, New Park Manor in the New Forest and Woolley Grange near Bath. Each one gives families that lovely holiday feeling, with space to swim, unwind, eat well and enjoy the day without needing to plan too much.
Perched above the sailing town of Fowey, Fowey Hall brings together coastal adventure and easy poolside moments. Start the day with a swim, head out to Readymoney Cove or Fowey Quay, then come back for more time by the water as the afternoon softens. The heated outdoor pool is set to open April to October, offering guests a spot to unwind and soak up the sun. The expansive terrace provides the perfect setting to relax with some drinks, read a good book or catch up on some down time, soaking up the view.
For families, it is a lovely balance: sea air, space to play, an outdoor pool for sunny days and plenty happening back at the hotel, from family activities to complimentary childcare.
In the heart of the New Forest, New Park Manor feels made for long summer days. Children can swim, explore and throw themselves into outdoor adventures, while parents make the most of the spa, the gardens and that rare feeling of having nowhere else to be.
The heated outdoor pool brings a proper holiday feel to a forest escape, especially after a morning spent spotting ponies, cycling quiet trails or heading out for a family day trip. Complete with ample poolside seating and stylish parasols, dive into from mid-May to September.
At Woolley Grange, summer feels easy in that wonderfully old-fashioned way. Children drift between the gardens, the Good Life Club, the pool and the play areas, while grown-ups find a quiet moment in the spa garden, over lunch, or with a book somewhere in the shade.
The outdoor pool gives the day a lovely holiday feeling without needing to leave the hotel. It is there for the after-breakfast swim, the post-adventure splash, the “just one more go” before everyone finally heads in for supper.
