Moonfleet Manor, Wellbeing
Sometimes the quietest moments are the ones that stay with us. Whether you're staying for a few days by the coast or dropping in for a little time for yourself, we understand the value of true rest and rejuvenation. The kind that helps you feel more like yourself again.
Our newest addition to the wellness space at Moonfleet Manor is designed with exactly that in mind. The Japanese Head Spa Ritual is a treatment that calms the nervous system, restores balance, and gives your scalp and hair the care they so often miss.
Japanese Head Spa treatments have been part of Japan’s wellness culture for decades. They’re grounded in the belief that the scalp is more than just the place hair grows from, it's a map of pressure points, emotional tension, and energy pathways. These time-honoured rituals are designed not only to cleanse, hydrate, and stimulate the scalp, but also to help the mind slow down and reconnect.
These treatments are as much about mental clarity and emotional calm as they are about physical benefit. Steam, touch, warmth and rhythm work together to create a deep state of stillness - something we rarely find in the pace of daily life.
Over the course of either 55 or 90 minutes, you’ll experience:
A gentle shampoo and exfoliation, to deeply cleanse and refresh the scalp.
A hydrating hair mask, applied while the scalp is softened with warm steam.
A therapeutic scalp massage, designed to release tension and improve circulation.
A hand and arm massage, grounding the experience in full-body relaxation.
Please note: drying or styling of the hair is not included as part of the treatment.
Whether you’re carving out an hour of stillness or trying something new, the Japanese Head Spa at Moonfleet Manor offers a simple, grounding ritual to help you reset. Nestled by the Dorset coast, our treatment room is a peaceful retreat where you can tune out the world and tune back in to yourself.
