Five Fun Halloween Snacks

Our Den teams are busy gearing up for some spooktacular fun this Halloween, from fun arts and crafts, spellbinding games and monster parties.

To help you get into the fun of Halloween our team share some recipes for tasty Halloween snacks to make with children. We have shared, simple and fun ideas that are perfect for all ages.

Banana Ghosts

Ingredients:

Banana’s

Varying sizes of chocolate chips and chocolate buttons or melted chocolate

Method:

Cut bananas to give varying sizes of ghosts.

Use small chocolate chips to make eyes and larger ones for open mouths on each ghost banana.

If you are using melted chocolate drizzle on to banana to make eyes and mouth on each ghost.

Silly Apple Monsters

Ingredients:

2 Green apples

2 tbsp peanut butter/ Nutella / Biscoff spread

2-3 strawberries

Small handful rice Krispies

Googly eyes

Method:

Cut the apples into quarters, then cut off the core section. This will be the "back" of the face.

On the opposite side, cut a wedge to make a mouth area.

Spread your choice of peanut butter, nutella or biscoff spread on the inside mouth area, add a slice of strawberry as a tongue and stick in some rice krispies as teeth.

Add googly eyes to complete the monster.

Halloween Hotdogs

Ingredients:

Hot dogs

Puff pastry

Method:

Slice thin strips of puff pastry, then wrap these strips around hotdog so that it looks like mummy bandages.

Cook in oven until pastry is golden brown.

Add googly eyes once cooked.

Strawberry ghosts

Ingredients:

Strawberries

A bar of melted white chocolate

A small amount of melted milk chocolate

Method:

Dip strawberries into white chocolate and leave these to set on some greaseproof paper.

Once the white chocolate has set use the melted milk chocolate to create eyes and mouth.

Pumpkin Smoothie

Ingredients:

1/2 cup almond milk (or milk of your choice, but we find almond goes best with pumpkin)

1 frozen medium banana

1/2 cup pureed pumpkin

2 tbsp honey

1/4 tsp nutmeg

1 tsp vanilla extract

Method:

Simply pop all ingredients in a blender and combine until smooth.

For extra effect, draw a spooky face on the glass the smoothie is being served in.
