Featured, Hotel news, New Park Manor
Earlier this month, we temporarily closed the doors to New Park Manor as we prepared to embark on an exciting journey to transform the hotel. Since then, the Manor has been a hive of activity with builders, decorators and designers all working their magic. Whilst we patiently wait for the interiors to take shape, we’d like to share the first glimpse of what’s to come…
First up, the Vinery. This is our main restaurant space that sits behind reception at the heart of the hotel. The team at StudioJill have poured their love into the design of this room to bring an informal and relaxed feel that suits dining from dawn ‘til dusk. Think oversized fabric shades and chunky lamps, stacked terracotta pots filled with foliage and rustic wooden tables. Texture and warmth are key in this space so metalwork will be painted a warm olive colour, the walls will be given a plaster effect and wicker, wooden and leather chairs will add to the ambience.
Next up we have a space that isn’t so much a re-mastering but rather a brand new addition - the bar. Visible from reception, this space will become an idyllic spot for parents to enjoy a nightcap whilst making use of our smart baby monitors. Like the Vinery, there will be a focus on a relaxed, atmospheric vibe with plenty of weathered wood, the glow of subtle lighting and a warm colour palette.
Upstairs - through the ambient, mustard corridors with contrasting woodwork and playful artwork - every single room will be transformed. But the show-stopper will be the King Charles room with a vast four-poster bed and a seating area from which guests can admire the views across the New Forest. On the surface the space looks very grown up, but guests can expect playful quirks at every turn. Open the wardrobe to find foxes and rabbits prancing across toadstools. Peer around a corner to find a games-filled nook. And look into the mirror to see a wibbly-wobbly version of yourself.
As you’d expect, the playfulness only gets dialled up in rooms with designated kids’ spaces such as Henry, illustrated here. It’s almost as if you’re stepping into a real life Alice in Wonderland. Elsewhere, The Four Bears Den kids’ club will be getting an injection of vibrant colour and 3D wall art inspired by the forest to let little imaginations run riot. And down the hall, the Cinema and Games Room will become a pre-teen hangout with checkerboard pattern, neon wall art and graffiti-covered upholstery.
We hope you’re as excited by the designs as we are. If you’d like to be the first to experience the brand-new interiors, you can book a stay from early April. In the meantime, watch this space!
