The perfect ways to ensure a memorable half term.

February Half Term is almost upon us and the children are probably looking forward to a break from school. We think spending time together as a family, just being in the moment is the perfect way to ensure a memorable half term.

Izzie Compton, our Four Bears Den Manager at Woolley Grange, has shared her top tips for keeping little ones entertained and spending time together this half term.

Research some healthy snacks or indulgent treats to cook or bake together. You may have an old family recipe book that you could pick something from. Alternatively, you could try our fluffy pancake stack recipe or BBC Good Food is always a good option for easy to follow recipes.

Choose a book as a family to read together. Each family member could take turns reading a paragraph, page or chapter. Children tend to particularly enjoy choosing a character to read.

Play some old fashioned family games to bring in some laughter. Our favourites are Charades, Simon Says, Musical Statues and Grandma's Footsteps.

Pick out some family photographs, print them out and create a family collage to display in your home, photo album or memory book. Talk about the memories you have made together and make a note of what your little ones say for years to come!

Use chalk (this washes off easily) on a garden patio, pathway or even walls to create artwork together. Can you recreate any famous masterpieces?

Using materials from around the house (e.g. toilet rolls) make a hedgehog house or bug hotel to put in your garden.
