Wellbeing
Picture the scene – you lie down on the table in the treatment suite, close your eyes and suddenly you are transported to the fresh, clean air of the Scottish Highlands, surrounded by the scent of Sea salt and spray, invigorated by the feeling of freshness and vitality that only a place so wildly natural can bring.
Now that revitalising sensation can be yours when you visit any of the spas and wellness areas in our hotels, with the introduction of our new treatment partner, ishga.
Born in the Hebridean Islands, ‘ishga’ (meaning ‘water’ in Gaelic) has its roots in the sea, with a base of pure Scottish seaweed.
Sustainably hand-harvested seaweed yields vitamins; minerals; amino acids; antioxidants and essential fatty acids, and combined with local spring water the resulting products contain over 86 vitamins and minerals. ishga’s scientists use a bespoke, natural process to create a truly unique range of organic skincare with the most remarkable anti-aging, hydrating and skin-renewing properties.
ishga only uses the highest quality natural ingredients. Light base oils such as sweet almond or jojoba, essential oils like rose geranium or lemongrass, and nourishing moisturisers including cocoa and shea butters, glide blissfully on and balance, nourish, smooth and repair.
Our colleagues at each of our hotels were asked what their favourite ishga product is, and why.
Ellie, spa therapist at Moonfleet Manor enjoys providing deep tissue massage for guests, a great treatment for people with muscle tension, aches and pains. She loves the Ishga Muscle Recovery Oil, soothing with a menthol scent that can help to detoxify the body.
Phil from Woolley Grange favours the Hebridean Sea Salt Scrub, which not only contains the salt that gives it its name, but also the unusual but very appropriate thistle oil. Phil says the thick salt crystals and rich oils will thoroughly exfoliate and nourish the skin.
Lucy from The Ickworth told us that her favourite product, the Marine Cream, provides a protective barrier to the skin, shielding it from the elements, especially useful during the cold winter months.
Katie from New Park Manor enjoys the Exfoliating Face Mask, which can be used regularly and leaves skin feeling nourished and radiant.
ishga have worked with us to create a range of pampering treatments, from facials, massages, wraps and scrubs, to offerings that are new to us, including Hot Poultice massage and specially developed Oncology treatments.
